Hurling
A hurling league had started up and we entered but the problem was we had only seven people that were interested so we had to combine with Mountbolus and Coolanarney. We were called Killoughey Schools. Our first game was supposed to be against Dromakeenan but see they couldn't play us so we had to play them another time. Our second game was against Coolderry. We were up by three points at half time so we were going good. Coolderry came back with two penalties and they scored both of them. We got another goal. We were up by a point. We got a goal that had hit sweetly in the back of the net. The referee blew the final whistle, we had won our first match and last year when we played them we got hammered by them so we were delighted with ourselves. Our third match was against Birr and we knew it would be a tough match and which it was indeed. We got three goals in the space of ten minutes. They had a really good player on their team but our backs kept him under control. At half time we were up by two goals. In the second half they stepped it up a gear. We got a goal when a free hit the bar and we took advantage. The time was up and we bet Birr. We knew we would get into a final. Our fourth match was against Kinnitty. We knew it would be an easy match and we slaughtered them. Our fifth match was against Banagher and unfortunitley we lost by six points. We should have played better in that match but unfortunately we didnt. Our last match before the final was against Dromakeenan and we won.
