An Taoiseach Opens New Classrooms In Gortnamona N.S.
On November 21st 2008 An Taoiseach, Brian Cowan, visited Gortnamona to officially open our extended schhol. There was great excitement on the day and a large crowd were present on this historic occasion. The school was blessed by the Bishop of Meath, Most Rev. Michael Smith, patron of the school. The children sang for the guests and the youngest and oldest children in the school made a presentation to the Taoiseach and the bishop. The parents had refreshments for all the adults and children and many photos were taken. A plaque was unveiled to mark the official opening.
